TOPIC: TWO REQUIREMENTS TO SEE GOD.
SCRIPTURE: Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled. HEBREWS 12:14, 15.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To see God, you must not only be holy; you must also be at peace with all men.
Our anchor Scripture reveals that maintaining peace with all men and living in holiness are conditions that make men to see God.
It is very important to know that the ultimate goal of Christianity is eternity with God in heaven. The ultimate goal of our Christian journey is to arrive in heaven at the end of our sojourn on earth.
God wants to say to us on the last day, “Welcome, thou good and faithful servant.”
Now, many of us have tried to live the lifestyle of holiness in order to see God, but we didn’t know that being at peace with men is also a requirement for seeing God.
So, the point is, to see God two things are very important: the first is, making and maintaining peace with men, and second is the lifestyle of holiness.
It is not possible, even by mistake, for a person who is in enmity with people to see God.
It is not possible for anyone whose relationship with people is not straightforward to see God. A bitter man can never see God. A person who cannot forgive people cannot see God. A person who is malicious, full of wrath and vengeful inclinations cannot see God. To see God, you must follow peace with all men.
There are many people who tried to be holy: they have tried to abstain from smoking or drinking; they tried to keep away from any form of immorality, etc. but not many people are able to make and maintain peace with men.
To see God, you must not only be holy; you must also be at peace with all men. The grace to be holy and be at peace with all men is released on you in Jesus’ Name.
Remember this: To see God, you must not only be holy; you must also be at peace with all men.
ASSIGNMENT:SEEDS OF DESTINY DAILY DEVOTIONAL
1. Ask God for the grace to maintain a lifestyle of holiness.
2. Make up your mind to be a peace with all men. Forgive those who offend you.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask for the grace to maintain a lifestyle of holiness. Rid my heart of any form of bitterness that may hinder my eternity with You, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
