TOPIC: YOUR PASSION AND YOUR PRAISE
SCRIPTURE: The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. Psalm 22:26
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: To love God is to give Him all your heart.
Our anchor Scripture makes it clear that praise belongs to people who are passionate for God; praise belongs to seekers of God. To praise the Lord is to seek Him. Seeds of Destiny 23 June 2022
It takes a strong passion for God for a person to seek Him. Those who seek other things find it hard to praise the Lord. People, who have other priorities in life apart from God, find it difficult to praise the Lord. But they that seek God, praise Him. When you see a real seeker of God, he is an addicted worshipper of God.
Psalm 86:12 says:
I will praise thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart:
A diligent seeker of God does not give his heart to any other thing; He gives all his heart to God. He does not divide his heart between God and any other person or thing; rather, he praises God with all his heart. He gives the totality of his heart to God.
To love God is to give Him all your heart. Real praise (and worship) is the expression of man’s affection and passion for his Maker. And the limit of one’s affection is the limit of one’s praise. Where your passion for God stops, that is where your praise for Him stops. The limit of your passion for God is the limit of your worship of God.
One reason why we do not worship God equally is that we are not equally passionate about God. Passion for God drives worship. We do not praise God equally because we are not equally passionate about God. People are passionate about different things in life. And your life heads in the direction of your passion. Make up your mind to be passionate for God.
