SONG LYRICS: AS I JOURNEY BY DR. PAUL ENENCHE
The Christian song “As I Journey” is another good song by Dr. Paul Enenche, composed through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Here is the lyrics of the song:
“As I journey through this life
To my everlasting home
As I travel on this journey
To my home beyond the sky
Oh Lord please don’t leave my hands
Oh Lord please don’t let me stray
As I travel on this journey
Till I reach my home at last
There are trials and temptations
As I journey through this land
There are manifold distractions
As I travel on this road
And my victory is certain
As I journey through this land
And my triumph is certain
As I travel on this road
Coda
Don’t leave my hands
Don’t let me stray”
End
One thing we Christians must keep remembering at all times is the fact that we are only pilgrims in this world and that we are meant for a more glorious Home (Heaven – The Kingdom of our God and Father).
We are simply journeying in this world, this temporary domain, and we are meant for a better place. You should know already that this world has been distorted and perverted by the devil, and is that things are not going the way they are originally meant to be. You see negative stuffs happening around, sicknesses and diseases hurting people, sin and immoralities, etc. This world is bad! And so, God has prepared a better place in Heaven for His own children. Jesus said expressedly:
“Let not your hearts be troubled; believe in God, believe also in me. 2 In my Father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And when I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.” (John 14:1-3)
That is it! We won’t be here forever! We are not meant to be here forever! We are meant for somewhere better than this world, where there won’t be sorrows and pains of any sort. We are meant for the above.
Unfortunately, some people won’t be able to succeed in this journey, particularly when they refused to cooperate with the Holy Spirit. Therefore, we need help from our God, Who is ever sufficient. He told Paul in 2 Corinthians 12:9 “My Grace is sufficient for you”
When we decide to partner with the Lord as we journey to our eternal Home, we have made the best decision ever. As we depend and rely on His help, yielding to His directives, we can be sure that our end will definitely be glorious, and we will be embraced by Him eventually, after it all. So, journey with boldness, with the Lord. You can be sure that He won’t let you fall, and He won’t disappoint you. He is “I AM”
