SCRIPTURE: When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs. PSALM 114:1–4.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Those who praise can never be prey to the enemy.

One of the greatest weapons for spiritual warfare is praise. Praise is not noise, and worship is not entertainment. They are spiritual instruments that place the child of God in dominion over circumstances, situations, and confrontations of life. When praise becomes God’s dwelling place, dominion naturally follows. Those who praise can never be prey to the enemy.

In our anchor scripture, when praise went forth, the sea saw it and fled, Jordan was driven back. Mountains skipped like rams; hills jumped like lambs, and the earth trembled—not because Israel shouted, but because God was present in their praise (Psalm 22:3). When God steps into praise, nature loses its authority to resist.

It is important to note that praise and worship are not reactions to victory; they are the pathway to victory. David was called the sweet psalmist of Israel (2Samuel 23:1–2). Praise was not what David did occasionally; David was praise personified. In Psalm 34:1, David declared, I will bless the Lord at all times – Not sometimes, not when things are convenient, but at all times.

And what was the outcome of David from such a lifestyle?

David took charge, in front of the lion and the bear. He was not intimidated (1Samuel 17:34–37). When he confronted Goliath, David did not negotiate; he took charge (1Samuel 17:45–50). History records that David fought many battles and lost none, not because of physical strength alone, but because praise positioned him for victory and dominion.

Now, let us look at three outcomes of praise:

  1. When our praise becomes His sanctuary, His Dominion becomes our heritage. Judah was His sanctuary, and Israel was His dominion. When God finds a home in your praise, He hands you authority in life. Those who carry the climate of praise are endowed with the mantle of dominion. Show me a person whose atmosphere is praise, and I will show you a person walking in authority.

  2. His presence in our praise creates a highway in our Red Sea. The sea saw it and fled. Obstructions disappear in God’s presence. Those who understand and practice praise do not struggle for access.

  3. His Presence in our praise dismantles and dissolves the mountains and obstacles of life. Mountains can remain standing until praise confronts them. Pain, sickness, affliction, confusion, disease, delay, etc. cannot stand before the Presence of God established by praise.

How then do we praise to take charge?

  1. Praise and worship God with undistracted focus.
Distraction weakens praise. The enemy often attacks focus because he understands the potency of concentrated worship (2 Chronicles 20:21).

  2. Praise and worship God in faith. God has not called anyone to seek Him in vain Isaiah 45:19. Praise God believing that it works.

  3. Praise and worship God with understanding. Understanding determines profit. Psalm 47:7.

Remember this: Those who praise can never be prey to the enemy.

ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Praise God consciously and refuse to be distracted by mundane things
2. Make praise the daily input and output of your life, not occasional practice.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for Your Word today. I receive grace to praise You consistently, habitually with understanding and focus, Lord, in Jesus Name.
