THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You cannot transact and make profit for the kingdom without a sense of urgency.

In the journey of life, one of the vital requirements for destiny fulfilment is the ability to take swift action and motion.

A major characteristic of the eagle that powers its existence at the top is swift motion combined with urgent action. It is its urgency of character. The eagle moves swiftly. It acts urgently and hastily. The golden eagle, for instance, flies at 127 kilometers per hour.
And we have seen throughout Scripture that highflyers in Scripture were people given to urgency of action and alacrity of motion. When duty called, they moved urgently.

A major scriptural example was Abraham. Genesis 12:1-3 says, Now the Lord had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:….

And in verse 4, the Bible says, So Abram departed, as the Lord had spoken unto him…
God finished speaking in verse 3, and in verse 4, Abram moved. There was no other verse in between the instruction and the corresponding action.

In Genesis 22:2, God told Abraham, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of. And in verse 3, Abraham rose up early in the morning and was on the move to execute the instruction.

The Bible did not tell us that there was a discussion between him and Sarah. I am not sure that was a discussion matter as far as Abraham was concerned. Because, if Abraham were to have a discussion with Sarah about sacrificing the child she waited for many years to have, maybe Sarah would have threatened, “I will kill you first before you kill the child.”

The point here is that Abraham departed immediately. The challenge of our generation is laxity of action; it is the lackluster and lackadaisical attitude towards divine instruction. That is what has prevented many people from amounting to anything in the Hands of God.

Beloved, you cannot transact and make profit for the kingdom without a sense of urgency. 1Samuel 21:8 says, the king’s business required haste. If it is the business of the King of kings, haste is required. And if you must fulfil Divine purpose on the earth, urgency is required. Without a sense of urgency, your life and destiny may not amount to much or bring much profit to the kingdom.

Another person with a sense of urgency in Scripture was David. 1Samuel 17:48 says, And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine.

David hasted and ran toward the philistine. David’s urgency of action backed by the Hand of God collapsed Goliath.

Beloved, you need a sense of urgency to collapse the enemy. You need a sense of urgency to collapse what is confronting you. Victory is not for the sluggish. If you are trusting God for victory in any area of your life and destiny, you need a sense of urgency.

REMEMBER THIS: You cannot transact and make profit for the kingdom without a sense of urgency.

ASSIGNMENT (S):
1. Refuse to procrastinate; act now on that vision or instruction especially if it came from God.

  1. Keep the company of movers.

  2. Ask God for the strength to move with a sense of urgency in all you do.

PRAYER: Lord, I receive grace for urgency, agility and alacrity. I walk in the realm of perpetual victory as move swiftly and urgently in all I do, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
