TOPIC:
MASTERY THROUGH DISCOVERY
SCRIPTURE: Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah! For this was not revealed to you by flesh and blood, but by my Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.” Matthew 16:17-18
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The level of mastery you have exercised so far is a function of your discoveries.
Many years ago, the man of God, Paul Yongi Cho, tried to cast out a demon that was oppressing someone. He did everything he could, but the demon remained unmoved. Suddenly, a flash of light flooded his spirit, and he said to the demon, “You must leave now! Two thousand years ago, my elder brother, Jesus Christ, defeated you for me, and I, in his place, ask you to leave.” Immediately, the devil said, “Wait! I will come, but please don’t tell anyone this secret, because many people don’t know it.”
Beloved, this story confirms that knowing who you are and who you belong to is what gives you dominion in life.
In John 1:22-23, John was asked, “Who are you so that we can give an answer to those who sent us?” In other words, “What do you say about yourself?” He answered, “I am the voice…” He didn’t say, “I am a voice.” He said something like, “That voice you heard from Isaiah, the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ that voice you read, I am” (John 1:22-23 paraphrased).
When Jesus asked his disciple, “Who do people say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God” (Matthew 16:15-16). With that discovery, Jesus told Peter, “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.”
In other words, “Step into the realm of what you have just discovered.” The truth is, until you know who you are, you can’t expect anyone else to know you. Until you can define your identity, darkness will remain your lot.
It is crucial to know who you are, and the Bible reveals that you are a chosen people, a unique person, a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9). Personally, I have no doubt about who I am. I am a transmitter of God’s presence; I am a mobile revival. You cannot approach me without feeling something, even if you are made of wood. I am a spiritual volcano in motion. And I and the children the Lord has given me are signs and wonders (Isaiah 8:18). Like people, like priest (Hosea 4:9).
Beloved, the devil seeks out your problem because he knows you don’t know who you are. You will see something that will change your power, authority, boldness, and courage. The level of dominion you have exercised thus far depends on your discoveries. Light is reflective. When you carry light, you don’t beg the darkness; the darkness makes excuses when the light arrives. So, if you lack power or dominion, intensify your discoveries. Search the Scriptures and let God reveal to you.
REMEMBER THIS: the level of dominion you have exercised thus far is a function of your discoveries.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Locate scriptures that position you as an authority in the areas you desire and meditate on them.
- Surrender your will completely to God’s will so that your dominion may be established.
PRAYER: Lord, I submit my will to your will. Please show me a revelation that will lead me into the kingdom of dominion and power with you, Lord, in Jesus’ name.
