THE TITHE – A PROOF OF OBEDIENCE TO GOD
SCRIPTURE: And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.
Genesis 2:16-17.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The tithe is first a confirmation of wilful obedience to God in all matters, especially in financial matters.
It has been established that the tithe is God’s portion in man’s possession. The tithe is the Lord’s and it should be given to Him. God allowed a portion of His money in your possession, called the tithe, to test your obedience in giving it back to Him.
Now, it is important to know the significance of the tithe or what it proves in order to practice it correctly. Many people do not pay tithe because of ignorance. They erroneously believe that the tithe is being paid to a pastor or a church. This is not true! Knowing what the tithe proves or signifies will clear all doubts and make us see the necessity of its practice.
What does the tithe prove or signify?
The tithe is first a confirmation of wilful obedience to God in all matters, especially in financial matters.
This means, the payment of the tithe is what confirms man’s obedience to God in all areas of life, especially in the area of money. The truth is, you do not know a person’s spirituality until you test them around money. This is why the Bible makes it clear that you cannot serve God and mammon (Matthew 6:24).

Now, I want you to look at the tithe as a kind of instruction God gave Adam in the Garden of Eden concerning the forbidden fruit. God gave Adam the permission to eat the fruit of all the trees in the garden except the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This fruit looked more like the tithe of the garden. The fruit of this tree must not be eaten. But when Adam ate the fruit, he lost the whole garden. That will not be your portion in Jesus’ Name.
My counsel is, be faithful to God in the payment of your tithe.
Remember this: The tithe is first a confirmation of wilful obedience to God in all matters, especially in financial matters.
ASSIGNEMENTS:
1. Ask God to give you a deeper revelation of the tithe so you can do it profitably and productively.
2. Release God’s portion in your possession to experience open heavens over your life.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord for opening my eyes to see a deeper revelation of the tithe. I receive the grace to tithe productively and profitably, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
