TOPIC: ZOE—THE LIFE OF GOD.
SCRIPTURE: The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. JOHN 10:10
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Zoe Life is a life that has the Image of God stamped on it.
Our anchor Scripture made it abundantly clear that Christ came so we can have the very life of God (Zoe); a life that is supernatural, indestructible, eternal, sickless, weariless, and extraordinary. The Zoe life is the portion of every child of God, but many children of God have not come to this understanding.
Now, there are two people in Scripture who lived closest to Zoe life:
- The first Adam, before the fall.
God breathed into Adam the breath of life and Adam became a living soul (Genesis 2:7). Adam was so in touch with God that even when sin had entered and corrupted him, he lived for nearly a thousand years.
ii. The last Adam—Jesus Christ.
Our Master, Jesus manifested the Zoe life effortlessly. He was extraordinary, full of glory and power; He was a mobile wonder. People marveled at His operation when He was on the earth.
Now, what is the Zoe life all about?
- The divinely directed life.
It is the life that effortlessly gravitates toward God. When a man is possessed with the Zoe life, he fulfils the Scripture that says, “Deep calls unto deep at the sound of thy waterspouts” (Psalm 42:7). There is a perpetual hunger in that man’s heart for the Almighty.
One who has the Zoe life also fulfils the Scripture that says, “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God” (Psalm 42:1). There is an incurable addiction to God.
When you have the life of God, you come to a point where your life is miserable without God. Like the psalmist says in Psalm 63:8, “My soul followeth hard after thee.” There is that vacuum in your heart that nothing and no one, but God can fill.
- Divine Image-bearing life.
The Zoe Life is a life that has the Image of God stamped on it. There is a palpable, tangible and feelable Presence of God that is unmistakable. When you have the Zoe life, no one can come around you and not feel something about God.
That is what Paul the Apostle means in Galatians 6:17, when he says, “Let no man trouble me. For I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.” In other words, “There is a stamp of His Image on my life. I carry an unmistakable stamp of God’s Presence.”
Beloved, the tragedy of our generation is that there are so many Christians who don’t bear or manifest the Image of God. They don’t look like God. People don’t feel God when they encounter them. People don’t hear God in their voices when they speak. That is why God is calling for a generation of people who carry and manifest His Image. So, make up your mind to live in the reality of this realm.
REMEMBER THIS: The Zoe Life is a life that has the Image of God stamped on it.

PRAYER: Father, make me a reflection of Your Image upon the earth. Let the fragrance of Your Presence consistently flow around my life, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
