TOPIC: THE POWER TO TREAD.
SCRIPTURE: Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Our sonship in God positions us naturally for supernatural power.
One of the greatest assets of every child of God on earth is the understanding of the powerful privileges we have in Christ. It has been confirmed that whose son you are is a major determinant of the privileges you can enjoy. A child in the royal family in England was born into pre-determined royal privileges – no money worries, no worries under heaven because of the family he was born into.
In a similar manner, the child of a witch doctor in an African village is highly dreaded. People are afraid of him because of his father. When people hear that he is coming, they give way because of who gave birth to him. He can threaten people on behalf of his father. He could make statements like, “Do you know me? Do you know whose son I am?”
Now, all those are nothing compared to being the son of the Most High God, the King of kings, and the Lord of lords, the I AM that I AM, the Owner of the universe, the Governor General of the universe. Imagine being the child of the ageless, die-less, weariless, tireless, limitless God.
Beloved, our sonship in God positions us naturally for supernatural power. And we are all sons whether you are a man or a woman. John 1:12 says, But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
So, God does not have a powerless child. Whether you are using the power or not, is all up to you. To be a child of God qualifies and positions you for power. And Romans 1:4 corroborates this: And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead:
To be the son of God is to be with power.
And one of the powers is what we are dealing with today: The Power to Tread.
Luke 10:19 says, Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Understanding what a serpent and a scorpion is will help us understand this scripture perfectly.
Now, the serpent represents four things:
1. Deception. Serpent deceived Eve. That means the Scripture gives you power over the forces of deception. You are not permitted to be a victim of manipulation or deception.
- Danger. The snake as well as the scorpion represent danger. When a snake is in a place people run away.

Disease (Numbers 21:4-9). The snake causes disease in the body. The symbol of the medical profession is the lifted rod with a serpent around it.

Death. The serpent is a killer. And the scorpion equals unforeseen pain- sudden strike.
Now, what does the power to tread refer to?
- It is the power to dominate the enemy and his forces of deception, danger, disease and death.

It is the power to decimate and decapitate the enemy and his forces.

It is the power to do with the enemy and his forces as you please.

It is the power to bring the enemy and his forces under control and into subjection. The power to bring the enemy and his force under control and into subjection.
Beloved, God has given you the power to tread on the enemy.
REMEMBER THIS: Our sonship in God positions us naturally for supernatural power.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse to fear or bow to the forces of darkness.
2. Join the Commanding the Day Mid-Night Prayer tonight at 11:00pm GMT+1 and enforce your dominion mandate over the forces of the enemy.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for giving me power over the forces of the enemy. I decree the defeat and frustration of every enemy of my life and destiny, Lord in the Name of Jesus Christ.
