DUNAMIS SEEDS OF DESTINY DEVOTIONAL FOR 5TH MARCH, 2026 BY DR PAUL ENENCHE
TOPIC: THE POTENCY OF PRAYER.

SCRIPTURE: Pray without ceasing. 1 THESSALONIANS 5:17.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Prayer does not only change things; prayer changes people.
The importance of prayer in the life of every believer cannot be overemphasized.
Prayer is so critical and vital that the Bible literally admonishes us to pray tirelessly and ceaselessly (1Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians 6:18).
In a world where wickedness is on the rise, and men are gradually losing passion and spiritual fire for the things of God, maintaining a buoyant prayer life is crucial.
So, in today’s study, we shall be looking at why prayer is such a vital force in the life of every child of God.
1. At the altar of prayer, we experience the privilege of knowing God’s Will, Plan, and Purpose for our lives. Habakkuk 2:1 says, I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me…. So, at the place of prayer, we see and hear what God wants to show or tell us.
2. At the altar of prayer, we experience the privilege of enforcing and establishing the Will, Plan and Purpose of God in the earth. Matthew 6:10 says, Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
In Daniel 9:1-3, when Daniel understood by books what God’s Plan was, he went to the place of prayer and decided to enforce that Plan of God.
- At the altar of prayer, we exercise the authority to interrupt and intercept with the agenda of the enemy. Whatever the devil is up to, is intercepted at the place of prayer (Matthew 6:13, Ephesians 6:10-12, Ephesians 6:18).
-
At the altar of prayer, we have the privilege of experiencing total transformation. As Jesus prayed, the fashion of His countenance was altered (Luke 9:29). Prayer does not only change things; prayer changes people. The man, the woman who prays is changed by their prayer.
Recently, the Holy Spirit quickened in my spirit that if there is anything to pray for, you also need to pray for your prayer life. Your prayer life is your livewire.
So, what do we pray about regarding our prayer life?
- Pray that you be filled with the spirit of grace and supplication to pray without struggle (Zechariah 12:10).
-
Pray that you be filled with the help of God to be able to literally pray without ceasing. It takes the help of God to pray without ceasing.
-
Pray that you be able to resist every tendency of fainting, weariness, or giving up on God. Luke 18:1 says, And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;.
Galatians 6:9 says, And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Some people may say, “I have been praying all these years, and it has not produced any result.” No! you need to resist every tendency or temptation of fainting, weariness, or giving up on God. The Bible says, …we shall reap if we faint not (Galatians 6:9).
Beloved, if you want to experience a triumphant Christian life, you need to maintain a consistently buoyant prayer life and resist every tendency of fainting when results seem delayed.
Remember this: Prayer does not only change things; prayer changes people.
