TOPIC: SECRETS OF POWER OVER THE ENEMY.
SCRIPTURE: And the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. And he said unto them, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven. Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:17-19.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: You are dealing with a fallen devil.
Many years ago, there was a spectacular fight between two boxers, Evander Holyfield and Mike Tyson for the WBA Heavyweight Championship. Mike Tyson was the title holder; he was the defending champion. Meanwhile, prior to the fight, Evander Holyfield, the title contender, suffered a heart condition, was prayed for, alongside medical interventions, and he got healed.
Then he engaged Mike Tyson. History has it that Evander Holyfield had given his life to Christ before the fight. He was attending a church in Atlanta Georgia while Tyson was busy living his reckless life. During the historic fight, Evander Holyfield beat Mike Tyson and became the heavyweight champion. Thus, the powerful Mike Tyson lost his title to Evander Holyfield.
Mike Tyson used to have about one hundred Rose Royce cars. He had suits to match the colour of each of those cars. When the spotlight was no longer on him, his fame was gone, and the luxury life disappeared. I heard that a time came when he needed to be boxing on the street of Los Angelis for money.
Here is the point: Evander Holyfield beating Mike Tyson does not mean Mike Tyson cannot beat another person. It only means that Mike Tyson is under control where Evander Holyfield is.
Similarly, Jesus beat the devil, He made a public show of the devil. He defeated the devil and stripped him of the title. The devil is a loser.
However, the devil, though a loser, can still exercise his residual power against those who don’t know God and against ignorant children of God.
Beloved, one secret to power over the enemy is understanding the fallen position of the enemy. Jesus said, I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven (Luke 10:18). That is, you are dealing with a fallen devil. All I want you to do is to see the devil as a fallen devil, no matter what he is trying to do against you.
Now, see what Colossians 2:15 says; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. So, it is confirmed that you are dealing with a former title holder, not the current champion. So, no matter how wicked that witch or wizard is, their father, the devil has already been defeated.
Beloved, from today, by virtue of this light, the devil is not expected to operate where you are.
Another secret of power over the enemy is Living in Kingdom Service.
Jesus first gave his disciples power to go out and cast out the devil. And in Luke 10:17, the seventy returned again with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject unto us through thy name. Here, they were returning from evangelism. They went out to win souls into the Kingdom. That means the revelation in Luke 10:17-19 came to them while they were in active service for the Kingdom.
Beloved, there is nothing that imparts Divine Power like being on assignment for God, the assignment of soul-winning, etc. (Acts 1:8). If you are on assignment for God, you don’t need to beg for power. You don’t need to beg God to protect you from danger, diabolic operations or premature death.
REMEMBER THIS: You are dealing with a fallen devil.
ASSIGNMENT(S):
1. Refuse to fear the devil and his gimmicks; he remains a defeated foe.
2. Be actively involved in Kingdom Service.
3. Speak against anything that is resisting your life and command them to bow.
PRAYER: Lord, thank You for giving me access to perpetual victory. Every enemy of my life was already defeated, and they remain defeated forever, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
